AFC WIMBLEDON

Manager: Terry Brown
Stadium: Kingsmeadow Stadium
Capacity: 4,700
Nickname: The Dons or the Wombles

History:After Wimbledon FC collapsed in 2002, AFC Wimbledon was formed. In their first season they managed to win the Ryman League but over the next 24 months they failed to reach the Conference South, failing in the play-offs on both occasions. Current Manager Terry Brown has been at the club since 2007 and last year led AFC to the Conference South title.

Key Player: Danny Kedwell Danny Kewdwell had an outstanding  season finishing as AFC’s top goalscorer with an impressive 21 goals. Born in Gillingham Kent, Kedwall had played for Welling and Grays, before moving to AFC in September 2008. His partnership with his strike partner Jon Main was crucial as they battled for a play-off place but AFC Wimbledon fell just short.

Final League Position: 8th
AFC Wimbledon just missed out on the play-offs but will be very happy with 8th in the League in their debut season in the Blue Square Premier. They will be hoping to build on that next season and maybe push on and reach the play-offs.
