History: They initially joined the Conference in 1979 but were relegated two years on. They were promoted ten years later, only to be relegated once again. After years of financial uncertainty and a changing of managers, Barrow joined the Blue Square North in the 2004-05 season and by 2007 had achieve Blue Square Premier status after defeating Stalybridge Celtic 1-0 in the Conference North play-offs.

Key player: Jason Walker Jason finished just behind Nick Chadwick in the goal scoring charts this season with 14 goals. Born locally, Jason began his playing career at Dundee before moving to Greenock Morton. However in 2007, he joined Morecambe before being snapped up by Barrow after being released by Morecambe. Jason has also represented England ‘C’ and last season collected the National Supporters club and Evening Mail Player of the Year awards.

Final League Position: 15th
Despite hovering just above the relegation zone for much of the season, Barrow managed to survive in the Blue Square Premier for the second season. They will now turn their attention to the FA Trophy Final on Saturday 8th May against Stevenage Boro at Wembley, and hope they can cause an upset.
