CAMBRIDGE UNITED

Manager: Martin Ling
Stadium: Abbey Stadium
Capacity: 9,617
Nickname: The U’s

History:They were first elected to the League in 1970 and at the start of the 1978/79 season, they were playing in the ‘old’ League Division 2. They were one of the first teams to play at the old Wembley in the League Promotion Play-offs and have had various success in the League. However since their relegation in 2004, ending their 35 year stay in the Football League, Cambridge have struggled to return. Although they have been near the top of the table every season, they have lost in both play-off finals they have appeared in and it looks like it’s another season for them in the Conference next year.

Key Man: Jai Reason Midfielder Jai Reason joined Cambridge from Ipswich at the start of the season after a successful loan spell last year. Keen to repeat the form of last year, Jai is a determined and strong midfielder and was  a key part of the Cambridge United team, but unfortunately will not be offered a new deal next season.

Final League Position: 10th
Although Cambridge were one of the favourites to gain promotion this season, they finished a disappointing 10th. They will hope to bounce back next season and reach the play-offs.
