History: Formerly known as Langney Football Club, Eastbourne have risen from the depths of the Sussex County Leagues to where they are today. It wasn’t until 2001 they changed their name to Eastbourne Borough and two years later, they had won promotion to the Dr Martens Premier Division. While improving all the time in this division, Eastbourne finally reached the Conference at the end of the 2007/2008 season, beating Hampton & Richmond in the Conference South play-off final and they have not looked back since.

Key Player: Jamie Taylor Jamie finished joint top-scorer with Liam Enver-Marum with 10 goals. He started his career at Aldershot Town before having spells with AFC Wimbledon and Woking. Jamie then signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in 2007 and helped them achieve promotion to the League. He then joined Grays Athletic before being snapped up by Eastbourne at the start of the season.

Final League Position: 19th
Eastbourne only survived the drop by the skin of their teeth with a final day win at home to Oxford United. No doubt the fans will be delighted that they will be seeing Conference football at Priory Lane again next season, but will hope for a more positive outcome next year.
