GRAYS ATHLETIC

Manager: Julian Dicks
Stadium: Recreation Ground
Capacity: 4,100
Nickname: The Blues

History: Grays were the first team to win the newly formed Conference South League in 2005 and the first team outside the Conference to achieve a league and FA Trophy double. They are a team that have come from the lower tiers of the non- league pyramid, having been promoted from the Isthmian League in the 1980s to the Conference. Since entering the Conference, Grays highest finished has been 3rd, which they achieved in their first season, but since then, they have gone downhill and are now staring relegation in the face.

Key Player: Daniel Charge Daniel has been one of Grays better performers this season but still couldn’t save Grays from being relegated. Having progressed through the Dagenham & Redbridge reserve side, he signed a two contract with Grays and made his debut against Notts County.

Final League Position: 23rd
Grays Athletic endured a torrid season under Julian Dicks and as a result they were relegated from the Blue Square Premier. Their fate was sealed on 3rd April after a goalless draw with Kettering and will certainly struggle again next season.
