History: Tamworth started life playing in the Birmingham Combination league, before joining the West Midlands league. In 1972, they achieved promotion to the Southern League but were relegated a year later. However after a takeover of the club, Tamworth found themselves back in the Southern League in 1987/88. They finally achieved promotion to the Conference in 2002/03 after winning the Southern League title. Tamworth were spared relegation in 2005/06 after the collapse of Canvey Island, but just a year later they were eventually relegated. However they secured an instant return to the Conference after winning the Conference North last season.

Key player: Nick Wright Nick is one of Tamworth’s leading goal scorers this season having scored 5 goals. Nick started his career with Birmingham City as a teenager before having loan spells at Tamworth and Bristol City in 2006. He then joined Northampton Town, making 4 appearances before returning to Tamworth on a permanent basis.

Final League Position: 16th
Tamworth managed to survive a relegation battle by ending the season strongly, finishing in 16th place. The fans will be hoping this can be improved on next season.
